The Falcons are coming off of a win over the Denver Broncos, 27-21, on Monday night. Although they suffered a 336-275 deficit in offensive yards, the Falcons were able to force 4 Denver turnovers, including 3 interceptions from Broncos QB Peyton Manning. Falcons QB Matt Ryan threw an efficient game, going 24-of-36, for 219 yards, and 2 touchdowns. WR Roddy White also had a good showing, running for 102 yards on 8 catches, and scoring a TD of his own.

The Chargers are coming into this game after stomping the Tennessee Titans, 38-10, in San Diego. The Chargers scored in every quarter, while keeping the Titans scoreless in the first and fourth quarters. San Diego held a 416-212 edge in total yards, and held onto the ball for 27 more minutes than Tennessee. QB Phillip Rivers had a good game, throwing 24-of-32, for 284 yards, and 3 touchdowns. Rivers is at 72.7% and 75% in his first two games of the season. RB Jackie Battle ran for 69 yards, on 14 carries, for 2 touchdowns of his own.

In Atlanta games, the favorite is 8-1 ATS recently. The Falcons are 2-0 ATS so far this year, and 1-0 ATS on the road. This is the first time since 2006 that the Chargers have covered their first two games. They have covered their last 3 games against non-division opponents by 20 ½, 12 ½, and 21 ½ points. Under head coach Norv Turner, San Diego is 12-3 ATS in home games after coming off of 2 SU/ATS wins.

These two teams have met just twice since 2001, with the Falcons winning both games. In a November 2008 matchup, the Chargers were favored by 4 ½ points, losing 22-16. In an October 2004 meeting, the Falcons won 21-20 after being favored by 5 points.

For this Sunday's game, the Chargers are 3 point home favorites, according to the football betting odds. The over/under is set at 47 ½ points.
