Bet on the NFLWeek two of the 2012 NFL preseason gets under way with the Cincinnati Bengals traveling to Atlanta to meet the Falcons. The first boot of the ball in the Georgia Dome is scheduled for 8:00ET and the game will be televised nationally on the FOX network.

Cincy exhibited some tough defense in their first preseason matchup last week versus the New York Jets and featuring Tim Tebow's Jets debut. Cincinnati emerged victorious by the score of 17-6.

The Bengals held the Jets to a total of 173 yards of offense, while allowing only 11 first downs for the entire contest. They sacked Jets QB's 5 times, including one and a half by backup linebacker, Dontay Moch, who also forced a fumble.

Special teams played a role in this one too, blocking a punt which was recovered in the end zone by Cedric Peerman for their first score. Peerman also had the Bengals second touchdown when he ran the ball in from the one yard line.

Look for Peerman to see alot of action against the Falcons on Thursday with starter BenJarvus Green-Ellis sidelined with a foot injury. Green-Ellis' usual backup, Bernard Scott will also miss this one with a broken hand, so reliable vet, Brian Leonard will share the rushing duties with Peerman most of the evening. Cincinnati has a plethora of injuries to deal with which also includes LB Rey Maualuga missing this one.

Atlanta fell victim to the Baltimore Ravens defense in their first exhibition, falling to them 31-17. Matt Ryan threw for 155 yards with 9 completions in 13 attempts and a TD. This included scoring drives of 85 and 80 yards. However, 3 turnovers in the 2nd half spelled doom for the Falcons. Receivers Julio Jones and Roddy White both had good nights despite the loss.

Like the Bengals, the Falcons running game will be suffering this week as well with both Jason Snelling out, along with projected rookie FB starter Bradie Ewing, who suffered a torn ACL last week ending his year. These two teams have not met in the preseason since 2007, but the Falcons have one the last 7 such meetings.

Atlanta is a 4.5 point home favorite at a -$110. The moneyline on the under/over of 38 total points is also $110/$100.
