College Football - Clemson at Georgia Tech |
Written by Michelle Allan |
Bet on NCAAFCollege football fans have an early season Thursday night NCAAF betting treat from the ACC with a matchup of two contenders as Georgia Tech hosts Clemson. College football handicappers will have a NCAAF betting matchup of two teams coming off bowl seasons last year and wins in their openers last week. The Clemson Tigers opened the college football season with a 37-14 home win over Middle Tennessee State as they got the cash as 18.5-point NCAAF betting home chalks. The difference in the college football betting matchup was the Tiger defense as they totaled 3 interceptions Clemson quarterback Kyle Parker was not particularly impressive as he was just 9-20 for 159 yards in the college football opener but he did throw 2 touchdown passes. Clemson held Middle Tennessee State to 92 yards rushing on 37 attempts. Clemson benefited from 3 touchdown returns. CJ Spiller opened the college football season with a 96 yard kickoff return for a TD, and Jacoby Ford had a 61 yard punt return for a TD. Clemson also ran back a fumble 68 yards for a score. Georgia Tech scored a 37-17 college football opening game win over Jackson State last week in a game that was not on the board. The Ramblin Wreck led 31-7 at the half and cruised from there. They were ranked 15th in the nation entering the game. Jonathan Dwyer had a great college football debut at running back for the Yellow Jackets as he had 95 yards on 7 carries for a 13.6 yards per carry average and 2 touchdowns. Josh Nesbitt was another stellar college football performer with 93 yards on 14 carries and 1 touchdown. Demaryius Thomas caught 4 passes for 101 yards. One cause for concern was that Tech fumbled the ball 5 times, losing possession on 3 of those miscues. In this head to head college football series 10 out of the last 13 games have been decided by 10 points or less. Last year Georgia Tech scored a 21-17 win and cover at Clemson as 2.5-point road favorites. This has all the makings of another close one. |
