Bet on the NBASince veteran starting center Tim Duncan suffered an ankle injury, the San Antonio Spurs have lost four straight games and may even be in danger of losing their top seed in the NBA Western Conference. This Thursday night, the Boston Celtics – suffering from their own streak of bad games, losing three of their last four matchups – travel to San Antonio.

The sportsbook lists the Celtics as the 1 point favorites to win. The total is set at 186. With both teams going through some late season problems, this will be a difficult game to predict. Especially since each team has topped their respective divisions, with the Spurs still on top of the West and the Celtics in second place in the Eastern Conference.

San Antonio is experiencing a number of problems right now with injuries. In their loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on Monday night, the Spurs played without Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, Manu Ginobili, and Antonio McDyess. When so many of your top players and starters are sidelined, it was probably remarkable that the Trail Blazers won by only 100-92.

The only one of San Antonio's big three players who is expected to be healthy for tonight's game is Tony Parker, who sat out Monday night with a contusion of his left knee. The Spurs should have some incentive to win tonight, as they have not dropped five games in a row since 1996-1997, before Tim Duncan was drafted by the team.

Boston is entering the game coming off a loss to the Indiana Pacers 107-100 on Monday night. While they are not facing the same injury problems, the Celtics seem to have lost some of their passion this late in the season. They have dropped three of their last four, and seven of their last twelve games. However, they are up on the Spurs, winning six of the last eight games against San Antonio.
