Golf betting will feature one of its top events of the year just one week after an exciting Quail Hollow Championship. Golf betting fans will see if Sean O'Hair can go back-to-back with wins after his Quail Hollow Championship last week.

The Players golf betting event takes place at TPC Sawgrass on the Stadium Course in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL.  The Players is good for 600 FedExCup points compared to 500 for the Quail Hollow Championship.  The Players total purse is $9.5 million and the winning share is $1.71 million.

Defending champion Sergio Garcia headlines the strongest golf betting field yet for 2009.  The field for The Players has a combined win total of 500 PGA Tour titles and will include every winner of all golf betting events dating back to 2007, which totals 53 different individual players.

Even better, 21 winners of golf betting majors will be included in the field for The Players this year.  A total of 19 different nations will have representatives in action at The Players.  Joining Garcia in the field will be 2009 FedExCup points leader Geoff Ogilvy.

Ogilvy has two wins this year at the World Golf Championships-Accenture Match Play Championship and at the Mercedes Benz Championship.

Tiger Woods is another headliner and makes his golf betting return to The Players after missing last year due to his knee surgery.  Woods remains the world's top ranked player and is the 2001 Players champion.  Woods has never missed a golf betting cut in his previous 11 Players appearances.  That being said, The Players has been one of the tougher challenges for Woods, who has not finished in the top 10 of this golf betting event since that victory in 2001.  Woods won the Arnold Palmer Invitational this year.

The world's number two player, Phil Mickelson will also be in the field.  Mickelson is 2nd in the Fed Ex Cup standings and has two victories in his pocket for 2009.  He won this year at the World Golf Championships-CA and at the Northern Trust Open.
