Bet on the UFCThe finale of the twenty-first edition of the Ultimate Fighter, the UFC's top developmental program, will be held on July 12 as Stephen Thompson will take in Jake Ellenberger at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. These two welterweight fighters will take part in the main event here. This came after a prior fight between Benson Henderson and Michael Johnson that was to take place here was pushed back.
A Look At Thompson
Stephen Thompson has a great deal of experience in many forms of combat. He holds black belts in Kempo karate, American kickboxing and Ju-jitsu. He has a 20-0 record in his professional kickboxing career and a 10-1 record in mixed martial arts.
Thompson's last official MMA fight came this past September. He won by a unanimous decision against Patrick Cote. Last year he also has a first round knockout over Robert Whittaker.
Wonderboy also has experience with many MMA stars. He has partnered with Chris Weidman and Georges St-Pierre in many training sessions. Overall, Thompson is the clear favorite with a -210 line according to our UFC betting odds.
His Opponent Ellenberger
Jake Ellenberger has competed in many MMA events over the years. The Juggernaut holds a 30-9 record in his overall career.
Ellenberger lost three bouts in a row in 2013 and 2014. He broke that streak in his most recent bout in February when he won with a second round submission on Josh Koscheck in February.
This is not the first time that Ellenberger has competed in an Ultimate Fighter event. In 2012 he was in the Ultimate Fighter 15 finale where he was knocked out by Martin Kampmann. Ellenberger's record has pushed him into having only +170 odds from BetRoyal oddsmakers to win this big matchup.
This matchup between welterweight fighters will be highly anticipated and could entail two fighters who will really go after each other to move up in the welterweight rankings. Added bets on other features like how long the fight will last for are expected to be released at some point in the future.
