Bet on the UFC MMA Friday Night Fights this week, January 14th, 2011 will feature Peter Manfredo Jr. vs. Daniel Edouard at 9PM Eastern Standard at Key West, Florida.
These middleweights will headline the main event. You may also recognize the name Manfredo as he was a finalist and a star in the first season of the reality tv show, “The Contender.” In the cofeature contest, one of the hottest prospects in all of boxing, super middleweight Edwin Rodriguez (17-0, 13 KOs) faces the toughest test in his career and the son of a legend, Aaron Pryor, Jr. (15-2, 11 KOs). Another recognizable name on the card that night is super middleweight Aaron Pryor Jr., who is the son of the 1996 International Hall of Fame inductee. He will take on Edwin Rodriguez on ESPN2’s Friday Night Fights.
Online Sportsbook lists Edwin Rodriguez as the minus 1500 favorite when matched up against Aaron Pyron Jr., who is listed at plus 750. Peter Manfredo Jr has minus 1100 odds in Sportsbook, whld Daniel Edouard has only plus 600 as the underdog.
Here are the athlete profiles to consider when betting on the MMA: Manfredo, who is 30, is one of boxing’s most exciting spectacles. He is best known for his stint on the show, but has also stepping in with some of the bggest names in boxing, including Sergio Mora and Alfonso Gomez. Then there is also Jeff Lacy and Joe Calzaghe. As for Eduard, who is also 30, he is most known for fight fans for his showdowns like Dorian Beaupirre, Willie Gibbs and Jermain Taylor. He stopped Gibbs in 2004 in the 4th round and was named ESPN’s Fight of the Year.
As for the other two, Rodriquez is 25 and one of the rising stars in boxing. He was a standout as an amateur and won 8 of his last nine bouts by knockout, including his last fight which was a nationally television destruction of James “Buddy” McGirt Jr. This lead to him being netted as the WBC USNBC super middleweight title champ. As for Pryor Jr., he is 32, and dominated Dyah Davis in his last bout, in over 8 one-sided rounds.
