NHL Playoffs odds will be available to bet on NHL action with for game four of the western conference series between Vancouver and Chicago. NHL Playoffs odds were beaten by the Vancouver Canucks in game three as they paid off those who bet on NHL action with them in a 3-1 win.
Vancouver had been concerning NHL Playoffs odds handicappers with their defense in the first two games of the series but they tightened up for game three and shut down the powerful Blackhawk attack as the game went under the total of 5.5 for those who bet on NHL totals.
The Canucks took an early lead in game three against the NHL Playoffs odds as Mason Raymond scored the only goal of the first period. In the second period the Canucks established control against the NHL Playoffs odds with goals by Steve Bernier and Henrik Sedin. Vancouver was never headed after taking that 3-0 lead and they now have a 2-1 game advantage against the NHL Playoffs odds in the series.
Most important for game 3 was the play of the Canucks defense and goaltender Roberto Luongo. Luongo had 23 saves on 24 shots against while Blackhawk net minder Nikolai Khabibulin allowed 3 goals on 21 shots.
Vancouver is one of the hottest teams going right now against the NHL Playoffs odds as since February 3 they have gotten the cash in 29 out of 39 games. The Canucks have recently beaten the NHL Playoffs odds in 9 out of 10 games. Since April 1 Chicago has also been an effective commodity against the NHL Playoffs odds with 11 wins in 16 games.
Chicago is the 3rd ranked offensive team in the playoffs so far trailing only the Detroit Red Wings and Boston Bruins. The Blackhawks also have the 3rd best power play so far in the post season. Vancouver has the 6th ranked defense for the playoffs but most would consider them better than that and that ranking may be a bit artificial after high scoring results in the first two games of this series.
Game four is in Chicago and then the teams will head to Vancouver for game five on Saturday.
