NHL Playoffs odds for Saturday will feature game 3 of the eastern conference sportsbook betting series between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Carolina Hurricanes. NHL Playoffs odds favored the Penguins to take this series but the Hurricanes have time and again surprised sportsbook betting fans this playoff season.
The NHL Playoffs odds were stacked heavily against Carolina in their first round series as a seven-seed against two-seed New Jersey but they pulled off a stunning upset to make the second round, where they were given no chance by sportsbook betting fans against the one-seed Boston Bruins. Yet Carolina again beat the NHL Playoffs odds with a major upset in seven games over Boston to make the eastern conference finals.
Defense has been the major reason for Carolina’s success against the NHL Playoffs odds. The Hurricanes ranked 3rd in the NHL for playoff defense as goaltender Cam Ward was a major asset for Carolina against the NHL Playoffs odds. Ward posted 8 wins and a sparkling 2.27 goals against average in post season action along with a .926 save percentage. Offense, on the other hand, has not been a strength for Carolina against the NHL Playoffs odds as they ranked only 10th in the league for post season scoring. Center Eric Staal led the Hurricanes with 9 goals and 4 assists while left winger Jussi Jokinen, right winger Chad Larose, and left winger Ray Whitney each had 10 points.
The Pittsburgh Penguins are something of an opposite against Carolina as offense is their main strength against the NHL Playoffs odds. Pittsburgh ranked 3rd overall in the league for playoff scoring with an average of 3.43 goals per game. Their defense, on the other hand, ranked only 10th against the NHL Playoffs odds. The Penguins attack is led by two outstanding centers in Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin. Crosby had 12 goals and 10 assists in the playoffs while Malkin had 7 goals and 14 assists. Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury had 9 wins and a 2.67 goals against average.

Bet on the MLBGamblers might feel compelled to place their baseball bets on San Francisco. Rival evaluators who scouted the Giants’ offensive work during spring training all left thinking the same thing; pitchers from opposing teams will have to dig deep. Similar to the Kansas City Royals of the previous two years, the Giants are not known for striking out too often.
