NBA Playoffs odds have been challenging to handicap this post season. Those who bet on sports have had to go beyond simply doing their homework. NBA Playoffs odds have been dominated by the Denver Nuggets and Cleveland Cavaliers while many strong teams from the past have burned those who bet on sports with them.
The defending champions against the NBA Playoffs odds suffered a second round elimination this year. The Boston Celtics were written off by many who bet on sports after it was announced that center Kevin Garnett would miss the entire playoff season due to injury. The Celtics barely escaped against Chicago in the first round and then blew a 3-2 series lead against Orlando to be eliminated against the NBA Playoffs odds. The Celtics beat the NBA Playoffs odds in just 6 out of 14 games this year.
The San Antonio Spurs have long been a respected power for those who bet the NBA Playoffs odds. San Antonio was a heavy favorite in the first round against Dallas but was eliminated in 5 games, as they failed to cover the spread in 4 of those matchups.
The Detroit Pistons have reached rock bottom this year against the NBA Playoffs odds as they failed to cover any of their losses in a 4 game sweep against Cleveland. Detroit was a dominant team not all that long ago but those days are clearly over. The Atlanta Hawks were a surprise team against the NBA Playoffs odds last year but this year there were no surprises, as they covered just 4 out of 11 games against the NBA Playoffs odds.
The Houston Rockets were expected to be a western conference contender until Yao Ming was injured early in their second round series against the Lakers. Despite missing Yao the Rockets took the Lakers the distance before being blown out in the seventh game. Houston got the cash just 6 out of 13 times in playoff action.
The powerful Lakers themselves covered just 6 out of their first 14 games against the spread in post season action. The lesson this year is that change is more dynamic than ever in the NBA and handicapping on the past is a sure way to lose.

Bet on the MLBGamblers might feel compelled to place their baseball bets on San Francisco. Rival evaluators who scouted the Giants’ offensive work during spring training all left thinking the same thing; pitchers from opposing teams will have to dig deep. Similar to the Kansas City Royals of the previous two years, the Giants are not known for striking out too often.
