Baseball betting odds Tuesday on the Mariners and Yankees are for a sports betting matchup of contenders, one expected and one unexpected for this season. Baseball betting odds have been slightly profitable for the surprising Mariners while the Yankees continue to be one of the worst values in all of sports betting.
The Seattle Mariners were not expected to be a contender against the baseball betting odds this year but they are in the thick of the race in the American League west division along with the wild card race as well. Pitching is the reason for Seattle’s remarkable success as they ranked 3rd overall in the majors with a sparkling 3.66 earned run average after 3 months of sports betting action.
Seattle’s offense, on the other hand, is a weakness against the baseball betting odds as it ranked only 29th for run production at 3.89 per game. Ichiro Suzuki and Russell Branyan are the top two players in the lineup against the baseball betting odds for Seattle. Suzuki was hitting a stellar .369 while Branyan was hitting .301 with 18 home runs and 56 runs batted in. From there, however, it’s a significant drop against the baseball betting odds for the Mariner lineup.
The New York Yankees were one of the hottest teams in baseball until a trip to Boston in mid-June in which they were swept in 3 games against the baseball betting odds. The Yankees were 4 games behind the Red Sox but still very much in wild card contention, if not outright contention for the American League east division title. The Yankees are always one of the highest priced teams on the board against the baseball betting odds which means that a loss on them for one game can set gamblers back for weeks at a time.
While the Yankees have played in a lot of high scoring games at their new Yankee Stadium the odds makers are aware that gamblers are betting the “over” against the baseball betting odds and also jack the price up on that as a result. New York went over the total in 18 out of their first 35 home games with those high numbers on the board. The Yankees are the mirror opposite of the Mariners in that they ranked 2nd in the majors for run production but 24th overall for staff earned run average.
Bet on the MLBGamblers might feel compelled to place their baseball bets on San Francisco. Rival evaluators who scouted the Giants’ offensive work during spring training all left thinking the same thing; pitchers from opposing teams will have to dig deep. Similar to the Kansas City Royals of the previous two years, the Giants are not known for striking out too often.
