MLS betting on Saturday will feature a worst versus first Major League Soccer matchup from Washington, DC as DC United will host the San Jose Earthquakes. MLS betting fans have seen DC United again prove to be a power in Major League Soccer and a contender to win it all while San Jose has had an abysmal season.
The San Jose Earthquakes have been one of the worst teams in all of MLS betting so far this year with just 3 wins out of 17 games played. San Jose has proven to have the worst defense in all of Major League Soccer as they had the highest goals against average heading into the weekend of MLS betting. Beyond that, only one team had scored fewer goals than the Earthquakes, who have been resting in the basement of the western conference for the majority of the MLS betting season.
DC United, meanwhile, is again a first place contender in the eastern conference as they were in a heated MLS betting race with the Chicago Fire. DC United has the most explosive offense in all of MLS betting but their defense has actually served to be a problem issue and what has kept them from breaking away from the Fire to take control of the eastern conference.
San Jose went winless in its previous three MLS betting appearances heading into this matchup as they tied Real Salt Lake 1-1 in a road game and then lost at home against Toronto FC 1-3. Next was an 0-2 loss at Chicago. Ryan Johnson has been one of the few bright spots this year for the Earthquakes as he had 6 goals and 2 assists to lead the team. Arturo Alvarez had 5 goals and 2 assists to also pitch in.
The powerful DC United attack has numerous weapons starting with Luciano Emilio and Jaime Moreno, who each had 6 goals to lead the team. Christian Gomez and Chris Pontius were also MLS betting assets as they each had 4 goals. DC United went unbeaten in their previous 5 games heading into this matchup.
