Play now! Here is your Poker News Update for the Holiday week.
The very popular play-chips Zynga Poker now has an app available on the Andriod. The rumors have been floating around for some time now, and the company had officially announced that they were developing the app last November. iPhoners have been enjoying the Facebook-based money poker app via Zynga’s Live poker app for years now. But both apps require that you be signed up to Facebook to play, but who doesn’t have a FB account in this day and age?
In interesting and kind of bizarre poker world news, Phil Helmuth has been playing with the idea of participating in Dancing with the Stars. Season 11 just ended with a bang, with America’s sweethears, Jennifer Grey, of Dirty Dancing fame, taking home the coveted mirror ball trophy. But with the hype that surrounds this hugely successful show, of course the world is already talking about who will compete in season 12. But Phil Helmuth? Apparently the pro poker player has been sending suggestive tweets to the twitter community which have lead some to believe that he may actually have been approached by the ABC network to participate in the hugely popular series. Nothing has been officially confirmed at this point, but judging by his tweets, it definitely seems like Phil is interested, and perhaps even excited by the idea of trading in his cards for dance shoes next season.
A winner has been declared at the WSOP Eastern Regional Champs. Chris Bell rounds out his 2010 Poker playing season with the gold ring and his second WSOP title for the year. Bell also received his first gold bracelet at the WSOP this summer when he took down the $5K Pot-Limit Omaha Hi-Lo event. He took the win when he called and checked a five of diamonds, three of hearts and six of clubs on the flop to the last player left, Klodnicki who continued out with 260,000 chips, this forced Bell to go all in. Then Bell tabled a three of spades three of clubs for the set, and Klodnicki showed up four of diamonds and six of hearts. The nine of diamonds on the turn and queen of spades on the rivers meant that Bell took the chips and the win.
