NHL wagering fans will have the choice of St. Louis or Edmonton in one of the biggest hockey wagering matchups of the season. After wallowing around the cellar of the western conference for the majority of the first half of the NHL wagering season the St. Louis Blues finally got themselves together after their significant list of injured players returned to action.
As of late St. Louis has been one of the hottest teams in all of hockey wagering, which has catapulted them into potential playoff contention. St. Louis was one of 6 teams that was within 2 points of each other for the final 2 playoff spots in the western conference.
From February 24 through March 12 the Blues went on a strong NHL wagering run in which they got the cash in 6 out of 8 games. St. Louis had an overall NHL wagering road mark of 13-16-0-3 and an over/under mark in road action of 19-12-1 over the total.
Overall the Blues have been one of the best NHL wagering values on the board with a mark of 41-26 against the odds this season. Brad Boyes has been a major reason for the Blues NHL wagering success as he had 28 goals and 29 assists to lead the team.
The Edmonton Oilers, on the other hand, have cooled off significantly and have been in a tough NHL wagering stretch. From February 17 through March 12 Edmonton got the cash in just 3 out of 11 hockey wagering opportunities. Edmonton had an overall record of 32-27-4-4 straight up and 31-36 against the NHL wagering board.
Edmonton’s NHL wagering problem has been their defense, which was ranked 24th in the league. Goaltender Dwayne Roloson had decent numbers but has had little help in front of him. Ales Hemsky has been a NHL wagering asset with 21 goals and 35 assists to lead the team.
