NHL Playoffs fans are in store for a highly intense and exciting matchup between Pittsburgh and Philadelphia in a hotly contested NHL wagering playoff series. NHL Playoffs refer to "home ice advantage" for good reason as this NHL wagering series has proven so far with the host getting the cash in all 3 games.

The Pittsburgh Penguins won the first two games of this NHL Playoffs series by scores of 4-1 and 3-2 in overtime to take a commanding 2-0 lead in games before the Flyers rallied at home on Sunday in a 6-3 win to stave off an elimination game and offer themselves the opportunity to get even for the series in this game 4 NHL wagering matchup.

Philadelphia was focused and ready in game 3 and bolted out to a quick lead as Jeff Carter and Mike Richards finally tallied their first post season goals of the series.  Carter was the NHL's leading goal scorer in the regular season and is a key to Philly's hopes in the NHL Playoffs.  The game featured a lot of battling and physical play which left the sellout crowd and NBC TV audience highly entertained.

The first half of the game was a flashback to the Flyers "Broad Street Bullies" days as there was so much fighting that the penalty boxes were overflowing.  Simon Gagne was another NHL Playoffs star in game 3 for the Flyers as he scored 2 goals.  Evgeni Malkin scored 2 goals for Pittsburgh.  Philadelphia goaltender Martin Biron stopped 26 Pittsburgh shots.

Looking ahead to game 4 Biron is an important component in the Flyers potential success in the NHL Playoffs.  Philly was a middle of the pack defensive team entering the NHL Playoffs and if Biron can step up his play the Flyers have more than enough offense to go far.  These teams are similar in being offensive oriented squads with mediocre defenses which makes for one of the most even series in the NHL Playoffs.  Pittsburgh goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury allowed 5 goals in the game 3 loss and must play better for the Penguins to advance in the NHL Playoffs.
