NHL hockey lines will take into account the fact that the Rangers are tied for the 8th and final NHL wagering playoff spot in the east with Florida and Buffalo close behind. The Ottawa Senators have not been much of a factor against the NHL hockey lines this season.
Ottawa had an overall NHL wagering record of 27-30-5-5 straight up and 33-34 against the NHL hockey lines. Ottawa has not had a lot of success against the NHL hockey lines on the road as they have posted just 10 wins in 32 games away from home.
From March 5 through March 12 the Senators went on a mini-run against the NHL hockey lines as they got the cash in 4 out of 5 games. Ottawa’s main weakness against the NHL hockey lines has been their 24th ranked offense. Their defense was a respectable 15th.
The New York Rangers are fighting for their playoff lives and have finally had a bit of an up-tick against the NHL hockey lines. From February 28 through March 12 the Broadway Blue Shirts won 4 out of 5 games against the NHL hockey lines.
New York had an overall NHL wagering record of 35-25-3-5 straight up but just 28-39 against the NHL hockey lines. The Rangers main weakness against the NHL hockey lines has been their dreadful and inept offense which ranked 30th in the league. Their 6th ranked defense is what has saved them from disaster.
As you would expect, with such numbers, New York has been a reliable “under” team. The Rangers went over the total in just 24 out of 67 games including just 12 out of 34 home games. Nikolai Zherdev led the Rangers in scoring but had rather modest numbers of 19 goals and 32 assists.
Scott Gomez was right behind with 15 goals and 35 assists. Goalie Henrik Lundqvist had a 2.49 goals against average with a save percentage of .914.
