Hockey bet values on both teams, incredibly enough, have been outstanding as both clubs have posted bet on hockey profits so far this year. The Tampa Bay Lightning had an overall hockey bet record of 17-23-3-7 straight up and a profitable 26-24 against the hockey odds.
A big reason for Tampa Bay’s surprising hockey bet success is that the average fan considers them a pariah and won’t go near them. Nobody, in fact, has a worse hockey bet reputation on “the street” than the Lightning.
It all started when they fired head coach Barry Melrose about a month into the season after hiring him away from ESPN in the summer. The ownership has been unstable and lacking vision and the team morale has been poor.
Despite all of that the Lightning have turned a hockey bet profit because they are so completely undesirable that when they win, it is a huge payoff since so few gamblers want them. The Lightning have posted just 9 bet on hockey wins in 26 road games. 14 of those games went over the total.
About the only team that can match Tampa Bay’s horrible hockey bet reputation are the New York Islanders. The Isles had an overall hockey bet mark of 14-29-3-2 straight up but were 30-18 against the hockey odds.
As is the case with Tampa Bay the Isles make huge money any time that they get a rare hockey bet win because they are such massive underdogs on the board.
When teams such as Tampa Bay and New York take the ice the oddsmakers will do everything they can to attract action their way which means that they have to sweeten the hockey bet with added value. In this bet on hockey matchup, however, the perception is even so the value should be as well.
New York has posted just 8 hockey bet wins in 23 home games with 13 of those games going over the total.
