Bet on the NHLThe Penguins waddle into tonight's intra state squabble against the Flyers as the Eastern Conference quarter finals series continues for these two intense rivals. Who knew there could be so much hatred in the City of Brotherly Love? The puck is scheduled to be dropped at 7:30ET in Philly's Wells Fargo Center. The game can be seen nationally on the NBC Sports network.
The number five seeded Flyers have had things go their way thus far against the fourth seeded Pens. They lead the series 3-0 and their Philly faithful look to bring out the brooms tonight. Philadelphia prevailed in the series opener 4-3 in overtime in the Steel City one week ago. They followed that up two nights later with an 8 goal barrage and were once again triumphant 8-5. But they will be hard pressed to top another 8 goal performance they acheived in front of their hometown fans 8-4 on Sunday.
The game Sunday featured as many slaps (and punches) to the face as it did slap shots to the net. This was especially true for Pittsburgh who undoubtedly have become frustrated with all the pucks being deposited in their goal by the relentless Flyers.
Sidney Crosby in particular appears shaken as he and teammate Evgeni Malkin had high hopes entering this series after having to sit out last years post season play. Crosby best concentrate on his play on the ice and not fisticuffs. He's played well when not worryimg about the extra curricular activites, scoring two goal and three assists in the first three contests. On the other hand, Malkin must have a good game tonight if Pittsburgh is to live to see another day. He has been held goalless in this series. He does have a respectable four assists, but is a minus four overall.
The Flyers are favored in hockey betting odds to wrap this series up at home at -$125. The Penguins are a +$105. The over/under of 6.5 goals is set at -$125 too.
