Bet on the NFLThe Titans will leave the hills of Tennessee for the long trek up to the pacific northwest where they will meet the Seattle Seahawks in a 2012 preseason matchup on Saturday. Gametime is 10:00ET in CenturyLink Field, formerly known as Qwest.
All things considered, Tennessee must be pleased with their 2011 season, albeit they just missed the playoffs, losing out to the Bengals on a tiebreaker. They finished at 9-7, good for second place in the AFC South. With a new head coach and quarterback, last year was a solid effort.
This season, coach Mike Munchak will need a revived Chris Johnson to provide the running game he lacked in 2011. After a lengthy holdout and the signing of a huge deal, Johnson failed to deliver on the agreement.
Munchak will also have to decide on a starting QB in a tight race. Expect Matt Hasselbeck, formerly with Seattle and 2011 draft pick, Jake Locker to share time with the 1st string offense against the Seahawks.
Rookie wide receiver, Kendall Wright, who was overall selection number twenty in this years draft, should play alot opposite Nate Washington. Kenny Britt will not play against Seattle, still nursing a torn ACL.
Seattle had a disappointing 7-9 record last year, but can be somewhat encouraged by a 5-3 stretch to end it. They finished 3rd in the AFC West.
There has been a changing of the guard at quarterback for the Seahawks this year with the acquisition of long time Green Bay backup Matt Flynn. He appears to be emerging as the number one passer and rookie Russel Wilson may land at number two, ahead of last years starter Tavaris Jackson.
Flynn looked brilliant at times during his few opportunities to replace Aaron Rodgers during his stint with the Packers. Free agent WR Braylon Edwards will be one of the QB's targets against the Titans, along with number one receiver, Sydney Rice.
In a surprise move, Seattle signed 15 year NFL vet Terrell Owens on Monday, but he will not see any action on Saturday.
Seattle is a Bet Royal sportsbook 3 point favorite at a -$110. The under / over of 35.5 total points is also posted at -$110.
