Bet on the NFL The Philadelphia Eagles host the Houston Texans in Week 13 of the 2010 NFL season. Currently the Texans are 3rd in the AFC South with a 5-6-0 record. The Eagles on the other hand, are at the top of the NFC East at 7-4-0. It's almost a must-win football betting game for both teams, with Houston needing the win to get back to .500 and Philadelphia needing a win to keep pace in the NFC East. A loss at this point of the season could be heartbreaking to the playoff chase for both franchises.
The Eagles fell to the Chicago Bears Sunday, a game that got out of control pretty early, and one they almost came back to win in the fourth quarter. They still hold a tie for first place in the NFC East with a 7-4 record, though, and own the tie-breaker against the New York Giants after beating them in week 11. The two teams have to play again in week 15, and in order to downplay the importance of that one, they could really use wins against Houston this week and Dallas next week in order to create some space for themselves in the division. Having two games left on the schedule against the depleted Cowboys can't hurt, but they have to capitalize when they can.
The Eagles are the 8.5 point favorites and Sportsbook lists the total over under at 51.
The Texans are trying to save a season that started out so promising, and ended a four-game losing streak by beating the Tennessee Titans last weekend. Now they are in a tie for third place in the AFC South, trailing both the Jacksonville Jaguars and Indianapolis Colts by one game in the division. They end the season against Jacksonville, so the opportunity is there to still win the division, and with Andre Johnson escaping a suspension, all hands are on deck for Thursday's game. It's time for Matt Schaub, Arian Foster, and Johnson to prove they belong in the AFC Playoffs, and it has to begin with a win over Philadelphia.
