Bet on the NFLThe Houston Texans will be hosting the Philadelphia Eagles at NRG Stadium this Sunday. The Eagles have a 5-2 lead and are just half a game behind the Dallas Cowboys for the top of the NFC East title. The 4-4 Texans are just one game away from the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC South.
The Texans beat Tennessee 30-16 last week to double their win total from last year. The status of both Brian Cushing and Jadeveon Clowney is questionable though, thus putting real pressure on a Texans defense that is strained as it is. J.J. Watt has been a powerhouse on the defense though as he has seven sacks, one interception, three fumble recoveries and a defensive touchdown this year.
Surprisingly enough, Andre Johnson is not the top receiver for the Texans. While he has 551 receiving yards, DeAndre Hopkins has moved forward as the top option in Houston with 569 yards and three touchdowns.
The Eagles lost in the last minutes of their game last week to Arizona 24-20 in a game that came right after their bye week. Running back Darren Sproles may be returning this week but his status is uncertain at this point. Sproles has a little more than 200 rushing yards this season and has been the team's second option at the position behind LeSean McCoy this year.
One point for certain is that Nick Foles has 2,039 passing yards but also has nine interceptions versus twelve touchdowns, thus posing questions about his accuracy in spite of how well he has gotten the ball down the field for much of this past season. On the defensive side, Connor Barwin has six sacks while Vinny Curry has an additional four sacks.
The Houston Texans are hoping to head into their bye week on a victorious note but it might be a challenge. They are listed at +2 for this game while the over/under is at 48.5 points. The two sides are hoping to gain some traction in this week's game.
