Philadelphia Eagles -5 ½ (-110) 46 ½ (-110) -180

Atlanta Falcons

The Falcons are coming off a 10-6 season and are hopeful they can build on the success they’ve been having as of late. All things considered, a 10-6 run isn’t half bad for a team that lost the Super Bowl the year before. Moreover, the Falcons were one win away from competing for the NFC Championship, showing that they can consistently compete at the highest level. With that in mind, there’s no reason to expect anything different out of Atlanta in 2018. They still have an excellent coaching staff, they still have Matty Ice under center, and they still have enough weapons on both sides of the ball to dominate. The only problem facing Atlanta is that the NFC South gave birth to 3 playoff teams last season. Clearly the competition will be fierce in the division this year. As for this matchup against the Eagles, the Falcons will be looking to get revenge on the team that eliminated in the divisional round.

Players to Watch: Matt Ryan (4,095 passing yards, 20 TD, 12 INT), Devonta Freeman (865 rushing yards, 7 TD, 4 F), and Julio Jones (1,444 receiving yards, 3 TD, 88 REC).

Philadelphia Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles were able to win their first ever Super Bowl last season, and they’ve certainly enjoyed themselves since then. Now it’s time to get back to business and there’s really only one question surrounding this team. Will the situation at quarterback delve into controversy? Carson Wentz delivered a phenomenal season last year, putting up 33 touchdowns to just 7 interceptions. But when he went down with injury, many felt that the Eagles’ playoff chances were in the gutter. But in came Nick Foles who stepped up and delivered what few quarterbacks in the league could have done: won the Super Bowl as a backup. Ultimately Foles finished last year’s season with 537 passing yards, 5 TD, and 2 INT. Those stats aren’t mind blowing, but what is bedazzling is that Foles beat the New England Patriots in the Super Bowl. It’s hard to put a number on that. And since Philly’s fans are amongst the most notorious in the NFL, you can expect this quarterback situation to go south once the troubles appear. Ultimately it’s up to Wentz to get this team on track to the playoffs in order to stomp any talk of being replaced.

Players to Watch: Carson Wentz (3,296 passing yards, 33 TD, 7 INT), Jay Ajayi (408 rushing yards, 1 TD, 1 F), and Zach Ertz (824 receiving yards, 8 TD, 74 REC).
