Bet on the NFL This Holiday weekend, the Seattle Seahawks host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Bucs are the third in the NFC South with an 8-6-0 record, while the Seahawks are second in the NFC West with a 6-8-0 record.
The Bucs are coming off a big loss last weekend to the Lions at 20-23. Averaging 84 ground yards per game, the running game of the Seattle Seahawks has been less than impressive this season. Disappointing to the ‘Hawks, the addition of Marshawn Lynch has not provided the help they expected for their rushing game and the passing game has been decent at best. As for the Bucs, their defense is best against the pass. Their secondary is allowing just 206 yards against opposing quarterbacks and the combination of Ronde Barber and Aqib Talib is one of the best in the NFL.
In other Seahawks news, cornerback Marcus Trufant is looking good to get back on the field, he had to walk away last weekend in the middle of the game vs. the Atlanta Falcons, due to back spasms. Up front the Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense is solid but not impressive. They rank 30th in the NFL in sacks and have failed to pressure quarterbacks, thus putting added pressure on the secondary. This may be a problem to watch in the last two games of the season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers defense has the edge over the Seattle Seahawks offense.
Sportsbook lists the Bucs as the minus 6 point favorites on the spread with the total over under at 44.
When betting on sports take note: Seahawks lead 7-3, but the Buccaneers have won the past two meetings – 24-7 at Qwest Field last December and 20-10 in the last game played in Tampa, in 2008. Ronde Barber will most likely shine this weekend for The Bucs’ are one of the youngest teams in the league, and starting eight rookies. But their veteran cornerback continues to get the job done at 35 and in his 14th NFL season. Barber has started every game for the Bucs since 2000, a string of 174 in a row.
