Bet on the NFLThe Seattle Seahawks were in a close battle with the Arizona Cardinals but pulled off a win at CenturyLink Field this Sunday. The Seahawks defeated the Cardinals 19-3 to move to a 7-4 record. They are two games behind the 9-2 Cardinals for the NFC West title and hold a tiebreaker for the second wild card spot in the conference.
The game started out with three straight field goals for the Seahawks from Steven Hauschka. One of his field goals went for 52 yards. However, his fourth attempt was blocked in the second quarter. Chandler Catanzaro had a field goal for the Cardinals in the first half as well.
The first half was back and forth for the most part although Byron Maxwell did have an interception during the second quarter. The Cardinals also kept the pressure on Russell Wilson as they sacked him seven times during the game.
The tide started to turn early in the third when DeShawn Shead blocked a Cardinals punt, thus leading to another Hauschka field goal. The Seahawks would finally get a touchdown later in the quarter as Wilson had a 20-yard touchdown pass to Cooper Helfet. The Seahawks would run out the clock in the last seven minutes of the game, attaining four first downs in their last possession.
Russell Wilson went 17-22 with 211 passing yards plus 73 rushing yards. For the Cardinals, Calais Campbell had three sacks out of the team's seven but Drew Stanton was also sacked three times. Two of those sacks were from Cliff Avril. Also, Stanton went 14-26 for 149 yards. The Cardinals were held by the Seahawk defense to a 3-12 run on third downs.
The Seahawks were -7.5 favorites at home for the game. The game only made it to just barely over half the 41.5 points that were expected for the game. This victory comes as the Seahawks are about to take on San Francisco, who is also 7-4, on Thanksgiving night. The Cardinals will wait until Sunday to play Atlanta.
