Bet on the NFL Monday Night Football in Week 16 is a true battle of the NFC South. The second place New Orleans Saints, with a 10-4-0 record, will hit the road for Atlanta to take on their division rivals, the Falcons who currently reign over the NFC South with a 12-2-0 record going into Week 16.

The Atlanta Falcons are not looking to end their winning streak anytime soon. It has been eight straight going into the holiday weekend, when they will play to secure the number one seed and the home field advantage throughout the playoffs. This Monday is the last Monday Night Football game of the 2010 NFL regular season. When betting on football here are some stats to keep in mind: Since Mike Smith and Matt Ryan came on board in 2008, the Saints and Falcons have met five times. Only once, a 2008 Week 10 Falcons win (34-20), has a game been decided by more than eight points. The average margin of victory in these contests has been six points, and the last two games were won by three points. The Saints hold a 3-2 edge in head-to-head match-ups in that time span. Atlanta won in the Superdome in Week 3 this season, a thrilling 27-24 overtime win. It was possibly the best game of the season in the entire NFL, and really one of the greatest in recent memory. The Falcons ran the ball 50 times for 202 yards in that game, and will likely look to pound it out again against the NFL's 20th ranked rush defense.

Sportsbook lists the Falcons as the minus 2.5 point home favorites with the total over under at 48.5.

In recent Saints news, they are coming off a bad loss last weekend to the Ravens at 24-30, which put an end to a solid winning streak. Saints kick returner Courtney Roby was given the OK by dotors to hit the field according to coach Sean Payton. As for the Falcons, Matt Ryan threw for 174 yards and three touchdowns, Jonathan Babineaux recovered a fumble for a touchdown and the Atlanta Falcons celebrated a playoff berth with a 34-18 win over the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
