Bet on the NFL
Carolina Panthers quarterback sustained a concussion last Sunday in the Panther’s loss to Tampa Bay. But the Ravens on the other hand are well rested coming off a Bye Week in Week 10.
One aspect of the Carolina Panthers defense that is over looked is their strength against the pass. The Carolina Panthers defense has shut down some of the best passing offenses int he NFL with the exception of the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago. Against the run the Carolina Panthers are giving up 124 yards and that is a little more than the better defenses in the NFL.
The problem in this game is the Baltimore Ravens have not shown a proclivity for going deep much unless Anquan Boldin breaks free on an out route straight up the field. Joe Flacco showed in the game against the Atlanta Falcons he does not throw well on the run or out of the pocket and that could be the Carolina Panthers strategy in this game. Will it work? Not against a team that was embarrassed last week and has 10 days to prepare. The Baltimore Ravens offense has the edge over the Carolina Panthers defense.
The Carolina Panthers offense is in bad shape as their running backs and their reserves are all laid up. They are hoping they will at least have DeAngelo Williams or Jonathan Stewart back for this game. In the passing game, the Carolina Panthers have plenty of weapons, including Steve Smith, a top ten wide receiver in the NFL that has struggled this season.
Sportsbook lists the Ravens are the 10 point favorites, with the over under at 37.
Ray Lewis and the Baltimore Ravens defense suffered another embarrassment against the Atlanta Falcons last week. They will have had 10 days to get it together for this game and with time on their side the Baltimore Ravens will use this game to make a statement.
Ed Reed has already begun to make an impact on the Baltimore Ravens defense but unfortunately it has been a negative impact. None of this matters in this game. The Baltimore Ravens defense will carve up Jimmy Clausen and the Carolina Panthers offense.
