The Panthers come into this game off of a close loss on the road to the Chicago Bears, 23-22. Up 19-7 in the fourth quarter, the Panthers gave up two touchdowns, one off of an interception return. The Bears kicked in a last-second field goal to take the victory. Carolina held a 416-210 edge in total yards, including a 297-131 edge in rushing yards. QB Cam Newton threw 20-of-39, for 314 yards, and 0 touchdowns, but 2 interceptions. Over their last four games, the Panthers have lost by 2, 4, 5, and 1 point.

The Redskins also come into this game off of a loss on the road, to the Pittsburgh Steelers, 27-12. The Steelers held a 25-17 edge in first downs, a 355-255 edge in offensive yards, and a 140-86 edge in rushing yards. QB Robert Griffin III threw 16-of-34, for 177 yards, and 1 touchdown. Over the first 7 games of the season, Griffin had completed 70% of his passes. He completed just 47% against Pittsburgh.
