The Patriots are coming off of an overtime victory at home over the New York Jets, 29-26. The Jets gave this one away, as their defense allowed the Pats to score a last-second field goal to push the game into overtime, then gave away another in the extra period. New England relied on the strength of their defense, sacking the Jets twice and forcing two turnovers. QB Tom Brady threw 26-of-42, for 259 yards, and 2 touchdowns. Brady is at 12 touchdowns and 3 interceptions on the season, and are averaging 32.5 ppg in their last 19.
The Rams come into this game off of a loss at home to the Green Bay Packers, 30-20. The Rams suffered a 402-354 deficit in total yards, but held onto a 108-70 edge in rushing yards. They could not shut down Packers QB Aaron Rodgers, who threw for 3 touchdowns. St. Louis QB Sam Bradford threw 21-of-34, for 255 yards, and 1 touchdown. This was the Rams' first home loss of the season, but they are still on a 6-2 run spreadwise.
