Bet on the NFLOn Sunday afternoon, the Kansas City Chiefs make the trip to Buffalo to take on the Bills. The game starts at 1:00 PM ET in Ralph Wilson Stadium, and will be televised regionally on CBS.
Both teams are coming off losses in Week 1. The Chiefs lost their home opener 40-24 to the Atlanta Falcons. Kansas City committed three turnovers to the Falcons' zero. By the half, the Chiefs were down 20-17, which turned into a 40-17 deficit before they were able to score a meaningless touchdown in the final 5 seconds of the game. QB Matt Cassell threw 21-of-33, with 258 yards and 1 TD, but also 2 interceptions. In their last 10 games, Kansas City is averaging just 10.8 ppg.
The Bills were also routed in their opener against the New York Jets, dropping 48-28 on the road. Buffalo committed four turnovers, while forcing only one turnover from the Jets. At one point, the Bills were down 41-7 before picking up a few touchdowns late in the game. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick had a decent game by the numbers, throwing 18-of-32 for 195 yards and 3 TDs, but all of those touchdowns were essentially meaningless that late in the game. RB CJ Spiller had 169 yards on 14 carries, with 1 TD for an average of 12.1 ypr.
The Chiefs are 0-8 ATS against the AFC East lately. The Bills are 7-0 ATS as home favorites of fewer than 5 points against teams with losing records. Buffalo is also 5-0 ATS in this series. Last week, both of these teams failed to cover the spread.
The last time the Chiefs and Bills played each other, in 2011, Kansas City was favored by 5 ½, losing 41-7. In 2010, the Chiefs were 7 ½ point favorites, winning 13-10, but failing to cover. In 2009, Buffalo was even with KC, with the bills winning 16-10.
For Sunday's game, the Bills are 3 point favorites in the BetRoyal.com sportsbook. The over/under is set at 45 points.
