Bet on the NFLThe 2012 NFL regular season Monday Night Football kicks off with the Cincinnati Bengals traveling to Baltimore to take on the Ravens. The game is scheduled to kick off at 7:00 PM ET in M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, MD. You can watch all of the action on ESPN.
The Bengals come into this game after splitting their preseason matchups, going 2-2, and 1-1 on the road. They last fell to the Colts in Indianapolis by a score of 20-16. QB Andy Dalton got banged up in that one, injuring his right bicep, but is listed as Probably for Monday's game. Last year, the Bengals had the 7th ranked defense in the league, and is expected to be just as strong on D this year. The Bengals went 8-6 ATS in the 2011 regular season, and were a respectable 5-1 ATS on the road. They are currently on a 2-6-1 slide ATS after coming off of a 10-1 run ATS.
The Ravens had a similar experience in the preseason, going 2-2, and 1-1 in Baltimore. In their final exhibition affair, they lost to the Rams in St. Louis, 31-17. The Ravens were 8-7 ATS in 2011, and 4-3 ATS at home. Baltimore is on a 28-17 run ATS at home, and 13-2 ATS in September when they are home favorites by single digit spreads. In their home opener last year, they routed the Steelers 35-7.
Since 2001, these two teams have meet twenty-two times, with each team going 11-11. Their last game, in January 2012, resulted in a Ravens victory, 24-16. In that one, Baltimore was favored by 2 points. Prior to that game, the two had met in November 2011, a 31-24 Ravens win. Baltimore was favored by 7 points, with neither team covering.
The Ravens are a 6 point home favorite from Bet Royal Sportsbook. The Ravens went 7-7 ATS last year as the favorite, and 4-3 ATS as the home favorite. The Bengals were 4-3 ATS as the underdog in 2011, and 3-1 ATS as the road dog. The total is set at 41 points.
