Bet on the NFL coach Mike Shanahan benching McNabb has caused some controversy spreading the word on various move options for the quarterback.
Note for betting on sports, both sides continue to trade ideas and concepts on shaping a possible extension deal for McNabb, and a deal could come into place before the new year. While McNabb has expressed his unhappieness about the benching, he has received considerable support from teammates, the front office and owner Dan Snyder, and McNabb has never been given the sense the team would not be working hard to secure his services, according to a source with knowledge of the situation.
McNabb is accustomed to dealing with controversy from his time in Philadelphia, and while at times with the Eagles he felt like he was more on an island, the reaction to his benching in Washington has been overwhelmingly positive for him, both inside and outside the organization. McNabb also realizes the grass isn't always greener, and the issues between coach and quarterback in Minnesota (a potential suitor in free agency) have not gone unnoticed.
Thus the Redskins remain a very possible option.
If the contract makes sense, McNabb would commit to the Redskins. That hasn't changed since the time he was acquired from the Eagles. Mike Singletary finally confirmed what many have suspected: Troy Smith will be the 49ers' starting quarterback when they face the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. The coach made the announcement on Friday.
Now a look at the injuries. Alex Smith continues to rehab his separated, non-throwing left shoulder, injured in a loss at Carolina. Smith had an impromptu end-of-practice throwing session with receiver Jason Hill on Friday. David Carr will serve as San Francisco's backup quarterback. Singletary will go without a No. 3 quarterback for the second consecutive game. Troy Smith rallied the Niners to a 24-16 win over the Broncos in London on Oct. 31, and the team certainly wants to see if he can do it again. San Francisco is coming off its bye week.
The Rams, like the 49ers, are mostly healthy heading into Week 10. But there are a few injuries to note when betting on sports: wide receiver Danario Alexander is still dealing with a knee injury, and safety James Butler hasn't fully healed his ankle, they are the only players listed on the injury report as out. But tight end Fendi Onobun is listed in sportsbook as doubtful due to his back injury.
