Bet on the NFLThe Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions were both unable to get a first round bye in the NFC playoffs but they are still in and will be taking each other on at AT&T Stadium in Arlington on Sunday. The game, which will be at 4:40pm Eastern on Fox, has the Cowboys with a -7 advantage while the Lions managed to get one player back into the game.
The effort that Dallas running back DeMarco Murray had to join the 2,000-yard club was derailed by an injury but he still managed to get 1,845 rushing yards and thirteen touchdowns this year. He has tallied at least a hundred rushing in twelve games this year.
The Cowboys have the league's second-best running game with 147 yards per game. The team has a strong rush defense as it is giving up 103 yards per game. Rolando McClain particularly has ten tackles for a loss this year.
The Detroit Lions are 11-5 and fell one game behind Green Bay for the NFC North title. The team is hoping to win its first playoff game since 1991. They won four games in a row before losing to the Packers. The Lions had an issue this weekend where defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh was originally suspended after stepping on the leg of Green Bay's Aaron Rodgers during his last game. Suh appealed the suspension and will be able to play in this weekend's game. He has been fined $70,000 for his move though.
The Lions have the NFL's best running defense by giving up about 70 yards per game. DeAndre Levy has 15 of his 150 tackles going for a loss this year.
Also, Matthew Stafford is averaging about 250 passing yards per game this year. Golden Tate has stepped in for Calvin Johnson during some of his injury issues this year and has 1,331 receiving yards. Johnson still managed to pass the thousand-yard mark even with his injuries in mind.
