Bet on the NFLThe St. Louis Rams were listed at +9 at home at the Edward Jones Dome this past Sunday in their game with the Denver Broncos. The Rams proved the pundits, fans and sportsbooks wrong with a 22-7 win over the Broncos. The 4-6 Rams took the lead early and never looked back.
The Rams had a 37-yard field goal from Greg Zuerlein in the first drive of the game. Later in the first quarter, the Rams broke up a fourth down pass attempt by the Broncos. The next play on the resulting drive was a 63-yard touchdown pass from Shaun Hill to Kenny Britt.
The Broncos' next two possessions resulted in punts while Zuerlein had another field goal. The Broncos would not get on the board until late in the half when Peyton Manning had a 42-yard touchdown pass to Emmanuel Sanders.
Sanders was injured during a play in the third quarter. The Broncos had two possessions end with two incomplete third down passes by Manning while Zuerlein had his third field goal of the game.
The first play of the fourth quarter entailed Manning throwing an interception to Alec Ogletree. This led to a 55-yard field goal for Zuerlein. On the next possession, the Broncos got within 28 yards for a touchdown when Aaron Donald sacked Manning on a fourth down attempt. On the team's next possession, Manning threw an interception to Trumaine Johnson. This led to a 53-yard field goal for Zuerlein to seal the win.
Greg Zuerlein moved to 15-18 in field goals this year with his five completed attempts in this game. His longest for the season is still at 56 yards.
Shaun Hill went 20-29 with 220 yards for the Rams as Kenny Britt had 128 receiving yards. For the Broncos, Peyton Manning was 34-54 with 389 yards. Demaryius Thomas and Emmanual Sanders both had about 100 receiving yards each. The 7-3 Broncos are tied for the AFC West lead while the 4-6 Rams are three games out of a wild card spot.
