Bet on the NFL The New York Giants hit the road for Minnesota to take on the Vikings in Week 14 of the 2010 NFL season. In recent Vikings news, they plan to sign running back Lorenzo Booker. Interim coach Leslie Frazier confirmed the decision Monday, with the team still mulling a corresponding roster move.
Sports betting fans should take note that Brett Favre is expected to take the field in this game but against a team of quarterback killers like the New York Giants he may not last long. Tavaris Jackson was a decent replacement last weekend but he did picked off three times.
Adrian Peterson should be the focal point of this offense as he was last weekend when the Minnesota Vikings put up 31 points on the Buffalo Bills.
With Brett Favre injured coming into this game it will be interesting to see how far he goes against this destructive defensive line of the New York Giants. Sidney Rice made himself known for the first time this season, hauling in two touchdown passes but this weekend may see Percy Harvin on the sideline once again.
Justin Tuck and Osi Umenyiora have been inconsistent this season for the New York Giants but when they are on there is no better defensive front line. The corners and pass defense have holding opponents to less than 190 yards per game which is one of the best in the NFL. Against the run the New York Giants are giving up over 100 yards per game but they have shut down some of the better runners this season. The New York Giants defense has the edge over the Minnesota Vikings offense.
Another disappointment for the Minnesota Vikings has been their defense. Jared Allen and his defensive line mates have not penetrated opposing offensive lines as they did in the 2009 NFL season. On the edges the Minnesota Vikings are giving up just 215 yards per game to opposing quarterbacks and their run defense has been solid, giving up just 92 yards per game on the ground.
