Bet on the NFLIt's a rematch of Superbowl I as the Kansas City Chiefs travel to the frozen tundra of Green Bay on Thursday to face the Packers. Okay, I guess I'm getting overly excited with the NFL regular season just a little over a week away.
First of all, this is a preseason game and it is unlikely the field will be frozen with a gametime temperature expected of around 80 degrees. Anyway, a game will be played in Lambeau and the start time is 7:00ET. The game can be seen in most of the U.S. courtesy of the NFL Network.
Kansas City (1-2) was soundly beaten by the undefeated Seahawks 44-14 last week. WR Dwayne Bowe was back in uniform after finally signing a franchise tender deal, but the Chiefs lost DE Glen Dorsey to a knee injury.
Green Bay (1-2) got back on track by beating the Bengals 27-13 last Thur. QB Aaron Rodgers lead the way both in rushing for 52 yards and throwing for 154. Expect Rodgers to sit out Thursdays affair along with WR Tom Crabtree who was injured against Cincinnati.
Last year, the Chiefs beat the Packers late in the regular season 19-14. In their three regular season meetings since 2001, Kansas City has defeated the Pack twice, with Green Bay winning once.
The Chiefs are 1-2 SU on the year, and 0-1 SU away from home. They are 1-2 ATS overall, and have gone 0-1 ATS on the road. The Packers are 1-2 SU this preseason, and 0-1 SU at home. They are 1-2 ATS overall, and 0-1 ATS in Green Bay.
Green Bay is a slim 1 point favorite in this one at a -$110. When they are favored, the Packers are 1-1 ATS overall, but 0-1 ATS as the home favorite. As the underdog, the Chiefs are 0-1 ATS overall, and this will be their first time as the road dog. The under/over of 40.5 total points is also listed at -$110. By the way, the Packers beat the Chiefs 35-10 in the Championship game played on January 15, 1967.
