Bet on the NFLOn Sunday afternoon, Peyton Manning and the Broncos travel to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. Gametime in Paul Brown Stadium in Cincy, OH, is scheduled for 1:00 PM ET, with regional television coverage to be provided by CBS.
The Broncos are coming off of a win at home over the New Orleans Saints, 34-14. This was the first time since Super Bowl XLIV that quarterbacks Peyton Manning and Drew Brees met on the field, and it was all Manning in this one. He threw 22-of-30, for 305 yards, and 3 touchdowns, while the Broncos racked up 530 yards of total offense. Manning has thrown for 300 or more yards in 5 straight games. Denver held a 225-51 edge in rushing yards, and held onto the ball for 9 more minutes than the Saints. In their last 6 quarters of play, the Broncos hold a 69-14 edge in points.
The Bengals had Week 8 off, but suffered a defeat at home to the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 7, by a score of 24-17. The Steelers held a 22-11 edge in first downs, and a 431-185 edge in offensive yards. Pittsburgh also held onto the ball for 15 more minutes than Cincinnati. QB Andy Dalton threw 14-of-28, for 105 yards, and 1 touchdown. The Bengals are on a three-game losing streak.
The Broncos are 1-10 ATS after a pair of wins and favored against an opponent with a losing record. They are 2-8 ATS off of a double-digit spread cover against an opponent off of two losses. Denver is 4-3 ATS on the season, 1-2 ATS on the road, and 3-0 ATS as the favorite. The favorite is 5-8 ATS recently in Bengals games. Cincy is 2-4 ATS on the year, and 0-1 ATS as a home underdog.
These two teams have met five times since 2001, with the Broncos holding a 4-1 series edge. Their last meeting, in September 2011, resulted in a 24-22 Denver victory. In that one, the Broncos were 3 ½ point favorites. In a September 2009 matchup, the Broncos won 12-7, when the Bengals were 4 ½ point favorites.
For this weekend's game, Denver is a 3 ½ point road favorite from Bet Royal's Sportsbook. The over/under is set at 47 ½ points.
