Bet on the NFLThe Denver Broncos were supposed to be clear favorites against the Miami Dolphins. The Broncos were favored by -6.5 points in this game. However, the Dolphins made the game rather close in Denver until the fourth quarter when the Broncos scored 22 points to take in a 39-36 victory.
The Dolphins had a 14-3 lead at the start of the second quarter after Ryan Tannehill made a short touchdown run. The next three possessions resulted in touchdowns to lead to a 21-17 Dolphins lead at the half. Peyton Manning had two touchdown passes to Demaryius Thomas for the Broncos while Tannehill had a touchdown to Mike Wallace.
The Dolphins took an 11-point lead after Isaiah Burse fumbled a punt return. Tannehill threw a touchdown pass to J Landry after this.
The Broncos then scored 22 straight points in the fourth quarter. It started with another touchdown pass to Thomas with a two point conversion pass to Emmanuel Sanders plus a short touchdown run by C.J. Anderson. T.J. Ward intercepted a pass for the Dolphins and got to the Dolphins' eight-yard-line. This led to Manning's touchdown pass to Wes Welker a short bit later.
Jarvis Landry got a receiving touchdown for the Dolphins after the two minute warning. The resulting offside kick failed, thus giving the Broncos the win.
While Peyton Manning had 257 passing yards for the Broncos, C.J. Anderson had 167 rushing yards. The Dolphins were only lmited to 97 rushing yards. The Broncos were especially efficient on third downs as they were 9-13 on third down conversions. Ryan Tannehill had passes to eight players and went 26-36 for 228 yards. The Dolphins were also 4-8 on third downs and completed one fourth down attempt.
The 8-3 Broncos are undefeated in six games at Sports Authority Field this year and hold a one game lead over San Diego and Kansas City in the AFC West. Miami is 6-5 and is three games behind New England in the AFC East and one game out of a wild card spot.
