Bet on the NFLThe Buffalo Bills travel to New York to take on the Jets in both teams' first games of the NFL regular season. The first kick of the ball is scheduled for 1:00 PM ET in MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. The game can be seen regionally on CBS.
The Bills had a rough time of it in the preseason, failing to win a single game either at home or on the road. They capped off their 0-4 record by losing to the Lions 38-10 in Detroit. Despite scoring in every quarter, the Bills could not overcome a 28-7 deficit after the first quarter. Interestingly, in 2011, the Bills gave Tim Tebow's Broncos a 40-14 beating. During the 2011 regular season, the Bills went 6-9 ATS and 2-5 ATS outside of Buffalo.
The Jets also struggled in the preseason, going 0-4. After another disappointing offensive perforance, they lost in Week 4 to the Philadelphia Eagles 28-10. On the positive side, however, the Jets finally scored their first touchdown of the preseason in the second quarter of that game, although they were held scoreless in the first, third, and fourth quarters. Tebow and the Wildcat formation were kept under wraps during the entire preseason. During 2011, the Jets were 6-9 ATS overall, and 4-4 ATS at home. The visitor is currently on a 4-0 ATS run in Jets division games.
These two teams have met twenty-two times since 2001, with the Jets leading the series 14-8. They played twice in November 2011, with the Jets winning both, 28-24 and 27-11. In that 28-24 victory, the Jets were favored by 9 ½ points, failing to cover. In the 27-11 win, the Bills were favored by 2 ½ points, losing outright. The visitor in this series in 8-1 ATS.

As the underdog, the Bills went 5-4 ATS in the 2011 regular season, as well as 2-4 ATS as the away dog. The total is set at 39 ½ points.
