Bet on NCAAFThis Friday night, the Washington State Cougars travel to Sin City to take on the UNLV Rebels. Gametime in Sam Boyd Stadium is scheduled for 9:00 PM ET, and will televised on ESPN.
Washington State comes into this game off of a close win at home against Eastern Washington. In that one, the Cougars got all their work done in the first half, scoring 24, and eventually winning 24-20 at home. They are 1-1 on the season after winning their home opener. Coach Mike Leach is failing to impress, leading his team to just 15 ppg, with no rushing offense or passing defense. QB Jeff Tuel is hurt with a knee injury after going 20-for-26 last week. In their last 7 games, Washington State has given up 34 ppg.
UNLV comes into Friday night still looking for their first win of the season after dropping a close one to Northern Arizona. After leading all game, the Rebels gave up 10 points in the fourth quarter, losing 17-14. They scored 27 in their debut game of the season, but just 14 in Week 2, against an opponent who was outscored 63-6 the week prior. RB Tim Cornett is averaging 139 RY per game, while QB Nick Sherry has looked impressive so far.
Last year was the first year these two teams had met since 1991. Washington State was favored by 14 in 2011, winning 59-7, coming out with a 471-60 margin in yards passing. For what it's worth, in that 1991 game, Washington State won 40-13 with no line set.
UNLV is 8-19 ATS as the underdog, but 19-9 ATS as the home dog. The Cougars are 12-20 ATS as favorites, but have gone 11-6 ATS when favored on the road. In fact, this will be their first game as the road favorite since the 2006 season.
In the BetRoyal sportsbook odds, Washington State is favored in this one by 11 points. The over/under is set at 55 ½ points.
