Bet on NCAAFA group of Louisiana Tech Bulldogs should be in full attack mode when they travel to Charlottesville Saturday afternoon to do battle with the Virginia Cavaliers. The game in Scott Stadium will begin at 3:30 PM ET with a 40 percent chance of rain in the extended forecast.
Louisiana Tech (3-0) had it's season delayed, by of all things, a hurricane, when a stormed named Isaac caused the postponment of the opener versus Texas A&M. The year has preceded nicely since then with 3 straight victories while scoring a total of 164 points. They have scored 56, 56, and 52 points thus far this season. That said, the defense has yielded 110 to their opponents. Look for senior QB Colby Cameron and RB Kenneth Dixon to add to their 15 TD total. RB Tevin King, who has 5 scores of his own this year is expected to miss this contest.
Virginia (2-2) has lost 2 in a row after barely beating the depleted Penn State Nittany Lions 17-16 on September 8th. They lost to a very good TCU team 27-7 last week. The Cavaliers are ranked 97th in rushing offense, and are lacking a solid QB behind center.
Louisiana Tech is just crushing it spreadwise this year. Their only miss came by 1 ½ points against Rice, when Rice scored a TD at 1:32 to go in the fourth quarter. In their next game, they covered by 31 points in a 52-24 rout of Illinois.
The Bulldogs are on a run spreadwise of 10-0. They are also 9-0 ATS on the road, but 0-7 ATS in Game 5 of the season. The Cavaliers are just 4-14 ATS at home, and 2-8 ATS as the home underdog. They are, however, 5-1 SU in Game 5, and 10-2 ATS in home games coming off of two consecutive road affairs.
Louisiana Tech is favored in the Betroyal sportsbook by just 2.5 points on the road, listed at a -$110. The line opened at -4 for Louisiana Tech. Another wager of $110 will be required on the under/over of 61 total points.
