Bet on NCAAFThis year's edition of the Belk Bowl in Charlotte will feature two teams that are nationally ranked. The Georgia Bulldogs, who were ranked at #13 in the Associated Press poll, will be playing in this game against the #20 Louisville Cardinals. Both teams had 9-3 records to finish the season.
The Bulldogs were close to making it into the SEC title game but were one game out of winning the SEC East title. While the team had a shutout over Missouri and a big win against Auburn, the team also had losses to Georgia Tech and South Carolina. The Bulldogs have also gotten at least twenty points in every game so far this year.
The Bulldogs are getting 255 rushing yards per game. Primary running back Todd Gurley, who has declared for the NFL Draft, is not expected to play due to a knee injury. Nick Chubb has been more than ready to compete in his place as he has 1,281 rushing yards and twelve touchdowns. He has also gotten at least a hundred rushing yards in each of his last seven games plus at least one touchdown in each.
The Louisville Cardinals won their last three games with Notre Dame and Boston College being among the teams they beat. However, the Cardinals have had only one game against a team that was nationally ranked as they lost to Florida State earlier in the year. This kept the Cardinals from having a better record throughout the season.
Injury concerns have prompted the Cardinals to be with some concerns over whoever is going to be healthy for the game. Between Will Gardner, Reggie Bonnafon and Kyle Bolin, the Cardinals are getting 246 passing yards per game. Brandon Radcliff has 648 rushing yards and eleven touchdowns for the season.
The Bulldogs are -6.5 favorites for the game primarily due to their harder schedule and improved ranking. The game is still expected to be a rather exciting one between two teams who have the same record.
