Bet on NCAAFThe Alabama Crimson Tide and Mississippi Rebels are two of the top teams in the SEC West. Both teams have four wins and are nationally ranked. They will take their efforts to the limit this weekend as they face each other at Vaught-Hemingway Stadium in University, Mississippi.
The rivalry has been extremely one-sided as the Crimson Tide has won their last ten matches. Last year the Tide was a -14 favorite to win and ended up shutting out the Rebels 25-0. The under has been taken in five of the last six games between these two teams.
While Alabama has won all four of their games so far this year, the team has struggled against the spread. The Tide had seven straight games where they either failed to cover it or had a push. The streak was snapped in their last game when they beat Florida 42-21 in a game where the Tide had a -14 spread. Alabama has gone 6-0-1 for the over in their last seven games that were played on artificial surfaces.
Ole Miss had a stream of winning against the spread for four weeks. They ended up with a push in their last game. They were favored at -21 against Memphis and won that game 24-3. The Rebels have gone under the point total in six of their last seven games. The Rebels have also gone under in their last four games against teams that have winning records.
Alabama is once again favored to beat Mississippi although the spread is only -6.5 in the Tide's favor. This is the smallest spread in the series since 2009 when the Tide were -3.5 favorites. The game has an over/under of 51 points to be scored in its duration. Mississippi has a straight up bet of +230 on them to break their extended losing streak against the Crimson Tide. Whether or not the Rebels will take them out this time is unclear but the line is much closer than it has been in the past.
