Bet on NCAAFCollege football odds continue to feature Mid-American Conference action again on Friday with a college football betting matchup between Akron and visiting Temple. College football odds handicappers are continuing to gain respect for the phenomenal turnaround of the Temple Owls who have a college football betting mark of 7-2 straight up.
Temple has also been highly profitable with a mark of 6-2 with the college football odds. Temple started the college football betting season 0-2 but is back on track and coming off a 34-32 home win over Miami-Ohio although they failed to cover the online betting board as 17-point chalks.
Temple is in first place in the MAC East Division and controls their own destiny. They are a perfect 4-0 with the college football odds in road action this year and have gone over the total in 5 out of 8 games.
It wasn’t all that long ago that Temple was the scourge of the college football odds. They were actually kicked out of the Big East Conference due to their ineptitude but are now bowl eligible and contending for the MAC title.
“There was so much adversity,” said head coach Al Golden. “Everybody said we stunk. Everybody said quit, get out of football, drop down. Our kids just put their heads down and kept working.”
Temple’s improvement is due to a solid running game and defense Bernard Pierce has rushed for 1205 yards, a 5.9 yards per carry average, and 14 touchdowns. The defense ranks 40th in the nation for points permitted.
The Akron Zips are 2-7 straight up and 4-5 with the college football odds. They have, in fact, lost 5 out of their last 7 games with the college football odds and have gone under the total in 6 out of 9 games. Akron ranks a dismal 109th with the college football odds for points scored and 70th for points allowed. The Zips are coming off a 28-20 win with the college football odds against Kent State as 4-point home dogs.
