Bet on NCAABThe last time Ohio State and Wisconsin met, the result was that the Buckeyes lost their No. 1 ranking after suffering a defeat. This Sunday, the two schools will have their rematch, and there is no doubt that Ohio State has more to prove with this game than the Badgers. The game will be played at the Value City Arena in Columbus, OH at 4:00 PM EST Sunday afternoon, and will be televised on CBS.
This may be an even more important game for Ohio State than even the Big Ten tournament. The Buckeyes are looking for revenge after the February 12 loss in Madison. Despite playing a well-rounded game of basketball, shooting 54% and having only 7 total turnovers, they could not compete with the 15-0 run the Badgers went on to come back from a deficit. Wisconsin also had twelve three-pointers that game.
And Wisconsin is experiencing a lot of success right now in the NCAA. They have only lost one game of their last 9, and has won four of the last six games on the road. Jordan Taylor took control in the last game against Ohio State, scoring 27 points and getting 7 assists. But the Buckeyes are strong at home against the Badgers, having won four of the last five meetings in Columbus.
If the Buckeyes can pull out the win here, they will seal their spot as No. 1 in the NCAA and get their long-awaited revenge for being knocked from that spot a few weeks ago. The win against Ohio State instantly made Wisconsin a hot commodity in the NCAA and made a statement that the Badgers could beat the best teams in the natioin.
While Ohio State leads the series between the two teams 81-65, both teams are much better at home than on the road. The win for the Badgers last month was a surprise, but not a total shock, as they lead the series in Madison 43-27. Wisconsin gave OSU their first loss of the season, but it is doubtful that they will be able to sweep the 2011 series.
