Bet on NCAABThe Kansas Jayhawks have four games left in their regular season schedule and have a very small edge over Missouri for the Big 12 conference title.
They will take on the Aggies of Texas A&M Wednesday night in their last visit to College Station and hope to remain on top of the rankings. Underestimating the Aggies would be a mistake, but this also seems unlikely for Kansas.
The good news for the Jayhawks is that the Tigers fell against Kansas State 78-68 on Tuesday night. But that edge could be wiped out if Kansas drops its opportunity tonight against the Aggies. Texas A&M is 13-13 overall and 4-10 in the Big 12. The Jayhawks are 6-2 on the road, while the Aggies have a respectable 11-5 record when playing at home.
The last meeting between these two teams went Kansas' way as they defeated the Aggies 64-54 on January 23. The Jayhawks, though, were behind by halftime before Thomas Robinson and Tyshawn Taylor stepped up to lead Kansas to the win. Kansas is also coming off of an 83-50 rout of Texas Tech on Saturday, where they shot 9-for-15 from beyond the arc and 56.3 percent overall.
Texas A&M, on the other hand, has lost all six of their games against ranked opponents this season, as well as the last ten in a row counting last season as well. They were beaten by Missouri 71-62 on Saturday, and have dropped their last three games at home. The Aggies will need to shut down the Kansas offense if they want to stand a chance tonight.
Kansas puts up an average of 75 points per game, while giving up only 60.4. The Aggies score an average of 61.4 points per game, while giving up 60.2. Defense will be the key for Texas A&M, and if the Jayhawks have a bad shooting night, all the better for the Aggies. But a Kansas win is the most likely outcome here.
NCAA odds list the Jayhawks as the 10 ½ point favorites to win.
