Bet on NCAABWith a 7:27 PM ET tip-off, the match between the No. 3 seed BYU Cougars and the No. 2 seed Florida Gators should be hotly contested.
The last time these two teams met in the NCAA tournament, the game went into double overtime, with BYU clawing their way to a victory in that first-round matchup. Even the oddsmakers are finding it difficult to call this one strongly for either team.
Current NCAA odds list the Gators as the 3-point favorites to win tonight. The total is set at 149. While the game should be close, the winner could go either way. And coming out of this game with even a 3-point margin of victory may be difficult for Florida, despite having a bit more depth and more talent at various positions.
BYU comes to this game with the national player of the year favorite Jimmer Fredette, who has been on a hot streak lately. He scored 34 points in the Round of 32 victory over Gonzaga, and 32 points in BYU's first game of the tournament against Wofford. Fredette is also a great passer, setting up team mates for easy points.
Despite being injured and sitting out practice, Florida guard Kenny Boynton is expected to play for the Gators tonight. He is one of the key players on the team and will be matching up against Fredette, which is no easy task. In last year's game, Fredette scored 37 points on the way to that double-overtime victory.
This is one of the most closely-matched games in the Round of 16, and is highly anticipated as being one of the best matchups in this round. The outcome is essentially a toss-up, as long as both teams come ready to play hard. Look for both teams to rely on their perimeter shooters, rather than going inside a whole lot.
