Bet on NCAABNCAAB betting odds for 2016-17 season will surely be influenced by whatever transpires during the off-season, including but not limited to players leaving for the NBA – as it will certainly be the case of Kentucky Wildcat Skal Labissiere –, transfers, and the coming and going of coaches. The following 5 teams are expected to be the most must-see.
Duke Blue Devils. If Grayson Allen chooses to remain in Durham, the Blue Devils will have a team worthy of the Final Four. Allen will likely use the lenient rules for early entrees to assess his status. Nonetheless, coach Mike Krzyzewski will have plenty of talent to keep Duke in the national title picture. The freshman class will be complemented by Luke Kennard, Matt Jones, and Derryck Thornton. And Duke's bad luck this season could pay off next season. Amile Jefferson requested a medical redshirt after a broken foot kept him out for the season. If he's eligible, the big man could enhance the frontcourt alongside Harry Giles.
Kentucky Wildcats. In addition to the aforementioned Labissiere, the Wildcats will most likely lose Jamal Murray and Tyler Ulis as well. John Calipari is bringing in the No. 1 recruiting class once again. Calipari announced his entire roster was declaring for the draft to take advantage of the new rules that allow players to assess themselves without hiring an agent. If any key players from this past season return, it will be a bonus in experience and leadership. Sportsbook oddsmakers don't expect this to become a dominant team immediately, though Calipari will have the talent to build one along the way.
Villanova Wild Cats. Two of Jay Wright's key players – Ryan Arcidiacono and Daniel Ochefu – will be gone, but the rest of the national championship team should remain, including Josh Hart, Kris Jenkins and Jalen Brunson.
North Carolina Tar Heels. North Carolina will lose Brice Johnson and Marcus Paige to graduation and much of their outlook will depend on which players decide to go pro. It's also not clear whether if coach Roy Williams will return. Fortunately for the Tar Heels, the cupboard's far from bare. NCAA basketball betting experts believe most of the supporting cast will be back, and their roles will be expands. Berry in particular is expected to be a key figure.
