The NCAA basketball final can be seen on CBS television beginning at approximately 9:20 pm Eastern. NCAA basketball championship odds favor the Tar Heels but the Spartans are the team with the home court edge with the game being played at Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.
That was a big edge in Michigan State’s win against Connecticut on Saturday. The Spartans will need every edge they can get in the NCAA basketball championship on Monday against a North Carolina team that has won all five of its NCAA Tournament games by at least 12 points.
North Carolina has the most talent of any team in the country and so far in this year’s tourney they have not been tested. North Carolina has been victorious in the NCAA basketball championship the last three times they have made it this far.
Remember that last year the Tar Heels didn’t make the NCAA basketball championship as they lost to Kansas in the semifinals. North Carolina has been on a mission ever since that loss and they look extremely focused to win the NCAA basketball championship.
Monday’s NCAA basketball final could be competitive if Michigan State rebounds and shoots the ball well. So far no team has been able to handle the Tar Heels inside or outside.
The Spartans will need Goran Suton to hold his own in the middle and they will need Kalin Lucas, Travis Walton and Raymar Morgan to stay even with Ty Lawson and Wayne Ellington.
North Carolina was the preseason #1 team and although Louisville was the overall #1 seed in the NCAA Tournament, it was the Tar Heels who were the betting favorite to reach the NCAA basketball championship.
Michigan State and North Carolina met back in December on this same court and the Tar Heels routed the Spartans by a score of 98-63. Both teams are much different now though, especially Michigan State. The crowd will also be much larger and more vocal in favor of the Spartans.
That could be a big advantage in the NCAA basketball championship although North Carolina is 67-14 on the road in the last four years. There is some history on Michigan State’s side in this NCAA basketball championship as 30 years ago it was Magic Johnson leading Michigan State to its first title against Larry Bird and Indiana State. You can bet on the NCAA basketball final right now by opening an account at Betroyal.com!
