March Madness 2009 handicappers will be looking at March Madness betting candidates such as LSU, Auburn, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Florida, among others. March Madness 2009 fans will always look first at traditional power Kentucky and perennial power Florida when considering SEC March Madness betting possibilities.
Kentucky has not had a strong season, however, and will need help to get an invite to March Madness 2009. U of K was 19-12 straight up and 12-13-1 against the spread. Florida, on the other hand, was 22-9 straight up but a weak 9-14-1 against the spread.
Still, the Gators will carry a lot of popularity with the general public in March Madness 2009 because of their recent past success in the “Big Dance”. South Carolina quietly emerged as a strong team in the east division with a record of 21-8 straight up and 10-12-2 against the spread.
The Gamecocks may carry good March Madness 2009 value due to their lack of popularity with the public. Tennessee was tied with USC in the east and had a mark of 12-15-1 against the spread. The Volunteers slipped a notch from past years, however, and are no longer a “sleeper”.
LSU may be a highly popular SEC team in March Madness 2009 as they have often looked powerful en route to a record of 25-6 straight up and 12-11 against the spread. Auburn could prove to be one of the best values in all of March Madness betting as they went 21-10 straight up and a lethal 19-5 against the spread.
Since Auburn is not a regular “dancer” they may still carry excellent March Madness 2009 board value. Other potential March Madness 2009 teams would be Vanderbilt, Mississippi State and Alabama as the SEC enters March Madness 2009 as one of the better balanced conferences in all of college basketball.
While Florida and Kentucky get most of the love from the masses, March Madness 2009 handicappers definitely have a lot more to choose from as far as SEC teams this year!
