College basketball betting respect continues to grow for Butler as they once again look to be a strong NCAA college basketball tournament contender. On Friday college basketball betting action will be focused on Butler’s home game against the Illinois-Chicago Flames, who are near the basement of the Horizon League and struggling this season.
These two teams are about as opposite as you can find in NCAA college basketball. The Illinois-Chicago Flames are one of the worst commodities in all of college basketball betting. Illinois-Chicago had an overall record of 10-13 straight up and 7-13 against the spread.
In road action the Flames were 4-7 against the spread. Illinois-Chicago has been on a terrible college basketball betting run as they have gotten the cash in just two of their last twelve games. They are coming off a recent college basketball betting fiasco on February 7 as they lost at home to Youngstown State 60-68 as 10.5-point chalks.
Illinois-Chicago ranked 203rd on offense and 119th on defense. UIC was 4-6-1 against the board as a dog. The Butler Bulldogs are proving that they were not a college basketball betting flash in the pan last year. Butler had an overall record of 21-2 straight up and 13-7-1 against the spread.
The Bulldogs have cooled off just a little bit, however, as although they have gone 3-1 straight up in their last 4 games they went just 1-3 against the spread. As more college basketball betting attention is focused Butler’s way the result could potentially be a drop in their value down the stretch.
Butler has one of the best defenses in all of college basketball betting as it ranked 3rd overall in the entire nation. The Bulldogs were just 7-8-1 against the board as a chalk. On January 17 Butler defeated Illinois-Chicago 59-52 as a 3-point road favorite.Gordon Hayward was outstanding as he scored 25 points to lead the Bulldogs. The game went under the total of 127.5.
